The name Tank at Cartier means far more than just a watch… It’s an entire range of Swiss made Cartier super clone watches, all distinguished by some design elements first defined by the so-called Tank Normale of 1917. From there, the collection expanded to dozens of designs, such as the Tank Louis Cartier, the Cintrée, the Française and the Asymétrique, just to name a few. In 2023, Cartier relaunched the Tank Américaine, a Tank watch with an elongated and curved rectangular case, first introduced in 1989. The return was made with ultra-classic versions in steel or gold, with white dials. But some months ago, without making much noise about it, the brand unveiled a pair of precious versions with Art-Deco sector dials, including this handsome platinum-salmon version.

The UK AAA replica Cartier Tank Américaine watches might not be the most popular model in the brand’s collection – the Louis Cartier holds the title. It’s also a watch that can, in a way, easily be confused with the Tank Cintrée. But it shouldn’t. Despite having a classic 1920s-30s look, the Tank Américaine – which has been explored in detail here – is a fairly recent creation, first made in 1989. The design is modelled after that of the Tank Cintrée, albeit with bolder dimensions, larger brancards on the sides and a less curved overall profile. The Américaine is thicker and wider than its inspiration, and though the design has been tweaked over the years, it remained largely unchanged – even after the 2023 update. The refreshed automatic version is a bit smaller than before, leaner and less curved. The dials were also streamlined with a finely brushed background replacing the stamped guilloche pattern of the older versions. But importantly, the large mechanical model was no longer hand-wound but automatic instead.
Fast forward to a few months ago, when we were introduced to a new version of the high quality super clone Cartier Tank Américaine LM watches, without knowing much about the watch other than what I had in my hands… a platinum version with an absolutely gorgeous Art Deco, sector-styled salmon dial… Well, now that was something that speaks to me, being a fan of salmon and sector dials – look at this, you’ll understand… Now we know everything about it, and I wanted to quickly introduce the watch and give my take on it.

In essence, this new version (as well as its yellow gold with anthracite dial sister, reference WGTA0295) is nothing more than a dial and material animation based on the 2023 refreshed Cartier Tank Américaine LM Automatic. In all fairness, and while I can have some love for some Tank models (usually the shorter or more unusual models), the redesigned luxury Cartier Américaine fake watches UK left me cold – so did the old model anyway. Maybe it’s the long case, the slightly bulbous flanks, the rather sterile dial of the classic version, or very possibly the combination of all three, but it didn’t leave me with a great impression. I don’t have anything against it, but I don’t have anything special for it either.
Things changed when I viewed this new Art Deco salmon dial… I’ve said it on multiple occasions but a different dial colour or layout can drastically change the appeal of a watch. This platinum Américaine is the perfect example of such a transformation. As said, technically speaking, we’re looking at the same top Cartier super clone watches as before. This means a narrow 24.4mm case with a tall(ish) measurement of 44.4mm – it’s not particularly long on paper, but it feels elongated even on the wrist. Don’t be fooled by the dimensions, it has a more solid wrist presence than expected.
What’s different here are two things. One, the case is made of 950 platinum, adding some weight to the watch – a certain sense of luxury for some collectors – while not making it luxurious looking at first… That’s something I like about platinum, a sort of “if you know, you know” appeal. The only clue that the watch is made of precious metal is the red ruby cabochon on the crown, a hallmark of platinum Cartier copy watches wholesale at Cartier. As with all Américaine, the brancards on the side are rounded and polished, the sides are brushed, and the connecting part between the lugs is also vertically brushed. At 8.6mm in thickness, it’s also a fairly slim watch that will certainly work in a sartorial environment, while the solid caseback is appropriate in this context.

But then, there’s the dial. And it’s where this edition marks the most points. A drastic evolution compared to the classic silvery-white, brushed dial of the classic version, this one opts for an Art-Deco, highly geometric and perfectly matches the shape of the case. And to make it even better, there’s this rich, two-tone salmon colour that contrast so well with the cold metallic feel of the platinum case.
The dial has multiple finishes and sectors, as it should. The central part is free of all frills, only showing the Cartier signature over a matte surface. Then, there’s a rectangular hour chapter ring with a radial-brushed finish and a succession of Roman numerals and markers, all connected to the outlines – making it highly graphic and, mostly, it does create a coherent feel with the shape of the dial opening. Lastly, the outer section also has a matte finish with a railroad minute track. Once again, I think this works much better than the oval-styled minute track of the standard model. In addition, it’s also more relevant to position the minute track at the periphery, the minute hand being longer than the hour hand. Classic Cartier sword hands in blued steel indicate the hours and minutes.
Inside the case is the fairly new Calibre 1899 MC, a small automatic movement beating at 4Hz and delivering a sufficient 40-hour power reserve. As often with cheap 1:1 super clone Cartier watches, the movement isn’t exactly the most attractive part, but it does the job. The watch is worn on a burgundy alligator strap with a white gold (not platinum) folding clasp.

There’s no denying that this perfect replica Cartier watches is handsome. Its dial looks incredibly good over the platinum case, and the overall feeling is elegant and slightly quirky, yet it plays on classic watchmaking vibes. I still think that the UK Cartier Tank Américaine super clone watches online lacks a bit of the refined elegance of the Tank Cintrée, but the latter is only available with openworked movements or in limited editions – such as the 2023 Tank Cintrée Réédition in platinum – and at a higher price range. This Art-Deco Américaine is thus a great alternative that is easier to acquire, and it does add a great sense of style with its sector salmon dial. Available now from Cartier boutiques at EUR 25,600 or USD 23,400. Just note that these are not limited editions but limited production models that won’t stay indefinitely in the catalogue.
